  Day 2: The Starting Line
I jumped on one of the scales at Ballys to get my starting weight. The verdict: 185 pounds. I wish I knew whether this was my average, low, or high. Why does this matter? I am not exaggerating or kidding you when I say that my weight fluctuates 5 full pounds every week. It is not even scale error...I actually fluctuate that many pounds. My record is equal in both directions...a four pound swing in a day. On different weeks I've managed to gain and lose 4 pounds pretty much overnight.

I hope this is my average because if it is a low then I might actually LOSE 5 pounds over the next two weeks and it'll still say 185 on the scale. If it's a high then I will falsely inflate my own success. However, if it is an average then all will be right with the world.

Thus far Day 1 was a success as I ate right (5 meals, lots of fruits and veggies and protein) and I lifted chest and ran for 23 grueling minutes. Total workout time: 1:38.

Don't pat me on the back yet, I chose Monday as my starting day because I consistently eat like that and workout that hard on Mondays...it gets a good start to the week. Today is the REAL first day. Wish me luck.

cue up the rocky theme

Good job honey! You can do it. Don't forget to drink lots of water all day. Love You

Come on baby! Drink some more beer! You Can Do Eeet!

luck! yes, i can hear rocky playing in the background

if you don't make it Kelly's gonna give you the spanking of a lifetime

chirp. chirp.

YOOOU CAN DOOOO IIITT!! You know you are such a fatty you need to go all out huh Jason?? Just eat good and work out don't make an ordeal about it.

ha ha, donna called you a fatty. Fatty boom batty!

Fatty Mo was one of the many nicknames I picked up over the years.

I work with Jason at 4TechWork and since he started here he's eaten a steady diet of KFC for lunch.

I can confirm to you all that he indeed has gotten the "office ass." It's so bad that we've nicknamed him Bobo J-lo.

John Sammon is a nerd. I heard one of the office guys saying that to himself as he browsed the internet.

The creepy thing is that he keeps on saying it. "John Sammon is a nerd". It's getting a little out of control.

Hey Bobo..would you like some fries with that shake?

What the crap!

jason, by the way, i just have to ask, who are all your friends - bode, sammon, ken, zeke, etc, etc. are they from work? school? your other life?? just wondering.........

First of all, ONE OF THESE "JASON"S IS NOT ME!

Bode is from college

Dave D. and Sammon are friends from my days at the Cleveland Municipal School District.

Ken and Zeke are friends from my job at Case.

I thought Bode was your "internet friend"

Wait, so Sammon and Dave D and Ken and Zeke are friends, but Bode is not?

Jason I didn't meant to sound rude or anything. I just meant who cares if you have a cookie or brownie or anything. As long as you do it in moderation and don't make it a habit.

I am going to vent here. I am so sick of people "christians" falling into the Oh I have to look good to get places attitude. YES WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES. But you know what if we are 10 pounds overweight, it won't kill us. Loving ourselves because what we are inside is what matters. Please don't get me wrong. I am excercsing for the first time in my life. But I am sick of thinking just because I am a 7/8 instead of a 3/4 that I am fat and ugly. Because I am not. Go for loosing the extra pounds but don't make it a higher priorityt hat God or Kelly! Do you still love me?? I wasn't yelling at you. honest and you aren't really a fatty I was being sarcastic! k. K.

Don't worry about the weight fluctuation. It is very normal. That's water weight for you. I used to fluctuate 7 pounds per practice (I'd weigh 194 before a two-a-day and weigh 180 at the end).

I agree with you Donna.

And who is it that they are weighing for the national "averages" of "healthy weight"?

If I'm supposed to weigh 150 lbs. or less when I'm 5'9", let me tell you that I would be a danger to my wife. One of my ribs may slice her right open at night if I roll over in bed.

Does anyone else smell bacon?

MMM - sausages, chips, delicious oreo cookies...

Doesn't that sound nice J?

KFC... Whopers... Penn Station... Asian Wok!

They all sound very excellent. And, I don't really know if I need any motivation either way. The motivation/anti-motivation comments won't really do anything for me either way. The standing in line at walmart/grocery store like I did last night and will do again tonight is a real killer. They load those aisles with all sorts of yummy snacks!

So, in conclusion, I don't really care if anybody thinks I'm a loser/winner for doing this, it's just for me.
