Ok, Jason's mosaic is stupid. So here's another interesting commentary on our government's fraud.

http://www.lewrockwell.com/north/north630.html

Thanks to Kelly for sending Jason another article by Gary North that led me to this article.

Our government, like every government before it (with the exception of Byzantum, I guess?) is stealing from its naive citizens.

It's not enough that they over-tax us. It's not enough that they fraudulently overpay for items and contracts (google FBI raids cuyahoga county). It's not enough that they set up ponzi schemes that will crumble (google FDR, Social Security, failure). But they have to counterfeit money because the American public is too stupid to realize that a copper coin clad in silver is not of the same value as a 90% silver coin.

Homeland Security sucks. The Patriot Act sucks. The Fed sucks. And the Republican and Democratic parties suck.

Lest you think the Bible doesn't have anything to say about this...

See Isaiah 1:21-23

NIV
---
21 See how the faithful city
has become a harlot!
She once was full of justice;
righteousness used to dwell in her—
but now murderers!

22 Your silver has become dross,
your choice wine is diluted with water.

23 Your rulers are rebels,
companions of thieves;
they all love bribes
and chase after gifts.
They do not defend the cause of the fatherless;
the widow's case does not come before them.

NASB
----
Zion Corrupted, to Be Redeemed
21How the faithful city has become a (C)harlot,
She who was full of justice!
Righteousness once lodged in her,
But now murderers.
22Your silver has become dross,
Your drink diluted with water.
23Your (D)rulers are rebels
And companions of thieves;
Everyone (E)loves a bribe
And chases after rewards
They (F)do not defend the orphan,
Nor does the widow's plea come before them.

The Message (not sure what I think about this translation, but I've included it here)
---
Those Who Walk Out on God
21-23Oh! Can you believe it? The chaste city
has become a whore!
She was once all justice,
everyone living as good neighbors,
And now they're all
at one another's throats.
Your coins are all counterfeits.
Your wine is watered down.
Your leaders are turncoats
who keep company with crooks.
They sell themselves to the highest bidder
and grab anything not nailed down.
They never stand up for the homeless,
never stick up for the defenseless.

And from dictionary.com...

dross Audio Help /drɔs, drɒs/ Pronunciation[draws, dros]
–noun
1. waste matter; refuse.
2. Metallurgy. a waste product taken off molten metal during smelting, essentially metallic in character.
3. British. coal of little value.

Is our money not dross?

I will continue to hijack this thread with this, an essay written by Alan Greenspan in 1966, titled "Gold and Economic Freedom".

Alan Greenspan, who would later become the Chairman of the Federal Reserve (ironically) finishes his essay with these words:

...This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirades against gold. Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights. If one grasps this, one has no difficulty in understanding the statists' antagonism toward the gold standard.

To this day he has never retracted any of his views expressed in that article, published 42 years ago, at a time when we were much closer to the gold standard than we are now.

You should have scrubbed the bowl after you flushed this morning!!!
